the journey to nowhere

"As you set out for Ithakahope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops, angry Poseidon-don't be afraid of them:
you'll never find things like that on your wayas long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,wild Poseidon-you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you................."

just a paragraph from something beautiful i read on the net.

It speaks of the sheer joy of the journey to one's destination..........

A dream- something we long to fulfil........ever remember a dream you had
something you really wanted badly .
the time you spend working towards it, realizing in your aspiration your shortcomings,
and working on them .........
the coffee breaks in between or the long walks you took to relax after hours of working,
or the joy of finding the solution to something you have been working on for days !

would that joy be the same if you had got the problem right the first day ?
would that walk feel as nice if you had not spend 8 hours straight in the lab ?

Its a pity we are usually so caught up in reaching for our goals that we have "no time to stand and stare "
to appreciate the joy of the journey..........and maybe thats why so many times when we reach
goal after goal after goal that we set for ourselves.......we find a certain void in us.

Don't the goals seem so much more worth it when we haven't reached them. Shakespeare said something like that in the merchant of venice (where is that horse that runs the second round with the same passion and fire that he runs the first -or something like that).
